The LPP Foundation’s mission is centered on empowering non-profit organizations that are hands-on in their work supporting vulnerable children, especially those who are orphaned, displaced, or in the foster care system.
Bridge Receiving Center is a revolutionary therapeutic residential program for children experiencing their initial placement in the foster care system. Bridge is an intentional facility specifically designed to provide children an immediate, safe landing, and on-going, holistic support as they navigate complex trauma and await long-term home placement.
Children in foster care often bounce between child welfare offices, motels, shelters, emergency care facilities, and multiple short-term placements, and it is commonplace in the foster care system for sibling sets to be split up based on availability. Bridge stands in the gap of the system, reducing the trauma that comes when a child needs to be removed from home and placed in care. Bridge staff do everything possible to keep sibling sets together during this traumatic transition. Time at Bridge prior to placement allows children to process and recover in a stable, safe environment, with access to recreational activities at a nearby camp. Bridge seeks to help courageous children write new stories of hope and healing in their lives.
Located in Snohomish County but serving children from all across Washington State, Bridge sits on 323 acres of beautifully wooded property adjacent to a local children’s camp. Along with a child-centered, intentionally designed living space, Bridge staff provide the emotional, academic, psychological, and physical support that best aid each child individually. All staff members are trained in trauma-responsive care and understand the importance of creating a sense of safety and loving support during a critical time.
